Welcome to Wall Street!
Do you want to be a millionaire? The class will explore and analyze the basic business areas of management, economics and finance in today’s businesses. Students will develop an introductory knowledge of the stock market (the ABC’s of investing). We will also discuss stocks, mutual funds and 401 (k) plans as retirement options. The use of current events is stressed. This knowledge is applied to the challenges of investing. Students will relate how economic and business principles affect investments through video guest speakers, stock market contest on the Internet and classroom lecture and activities.
"Wall Street – Intro to Investments" introduces students to the fundamentals of how a market economy functions. Students will learn about common stocks and how they relate to America's business structure, how and why a company issues stock, investment guidelines, stock exchanges and elements relating to stock markets.
In addition, students will participate in The Stock Market Game; a national program designed to assist in the study of securities markets.
